Volsung

Volsung was born already quite developed and “he was soon big, strong, and daring in what were thought to be the tests of manhood and prowess.  He became the greatest of warriors.”  Volsung married Hljod, daughter of the giantess Hrimnir, and they had ten sons, the eldest of which was called Sigmund.  They also had a daughter, who was the twin of Sigmund, named Signy.
