Hljod

Hljod is Volsung’s wife and mother of ten sons, the eldest of which is Sigmund, and one daughter, Signy, who is the twin sister of Sigmund.  She is the daughter of the giantess Hrimnir, and it was she who delivered Frigg’s magic apple that allowed Rerir’s wife to become pregnant with Volsung.
